Meditative Yoga & Restorative Yoga

Outdoors in the park on warm, dry days.

On cool, damp days, there will be hybrid classes: both online and in-person.  In-person, we practice physical distancing.

Restorative Yoga: Tuesdays at 10:30am--11:30am (9:30am for the summer heat)

Meditative Yoga: Fridays at 10:30am--11:30am (9:30am for the summer heat)

The purpose of Restorative Yoga is deep relaxation.  Most of us spend far too much time in the stress reaction, fight or flight mode of the sympathetic nervous system--especially during these challenging times!  Restorative yoga is designed to shift the central nervous system into the much calmer, relaxation response of the parasympathetic nervous system.  When we deeply relax, we shift into the rest, digest and repair mode.  You will need some cushions or pillows and either a yoga strap or a nearby wall.  Please contact Duncan for more info.


Meditative Yoga classes start and end with meditation.  We begin lying down with easy poses and work our way up to moderate poses.  Nothing too strenuous is expected of you!  Feel free to modify stretches to suit your bodies needs on any given day--especially if you have injuries, are recovering from surgery etc.  Duncan's Meditative Yoga classes have been very popular for many years.  These self-healing classes are often full with waiting lists!
