Evenings of Yoga and Chanting...

Join us for an evening of gentle yoga followed by chanting and song.  $25 Yoga and Chanting ($15 for half class).  Please bring your yoga mat, if you have one.  Some yoga mats and blocks available.  Space is limited and the yoga segment typically sells out, so be sure to register in asap!

Gentle, Meditative Yoga

6:00--7:15

We begin with meditation, to relax and become present in your body.  We work our way up to moderate level poses in the middle, but nothing too strenuous.  You are encouraged to continually find your 'sweet spot', where you are working your body's leading edge, without hurting yourself.  We also end the yoga component with meditation.  Yoga is a wonderful practice to open the body and voice for chanting...

Chanting and Song

7:30--8:40pm

We being with a vocal warm-up to continue opening the voice.  The chanting will generally be simple, spiritual words and melodies that repeat, often accompanied by drum rhythm.  These chants are melodic, rhythmic affirmations that create a healing effect on the mind, body and spirit.  No musical experience necessary.  Chanting is a gentle form of exercise, and it is an opportunity to find your voice and creatively express yourself...
